Sweetened condensed milk and melted chocolate bind together coconut flakes for an intensely sweet, chewy base.

A whole almond pressed into the top of each cookie delivers that signature Almond Joy look and nutty crunch.

These bake quickly at moderate heat, staying moist and fudgy inside with slightly crisp edges that develop during the brief baking time.

Baking Tips

  • Use a double boiler to melt chocolate smoothly without scorching
  • Stir constantly until chocolate melts completely into the condensed milk
  • Press almonds gently into the dough so they stay put during baking
  • Watch carefully after 8 minutes as bottoms brown quickly and can burn
