This retro microwave sauce brings unexpected sweetness from applesauce while keeping that classic tangy kick.

Onions soften in butter before everything bubbles together into a glossy glaze.

Brush it on ribs, chicken, or meatloaf for a fruity twist on barbecue night.

Kitchen Tips

  • Use unsweetened applesauce for better control over final sweetness
  • Stir halfway through cooking to prevent hot spots
  • This sauce thickens as it cools, so don’t worry if it seems thin
  • Double the batch and store extras in the fridge for up to a week
