Bourbon Fudge

Three-ingredient microwave fudge spiked with bourbon and a hint of orange extract, set on a bed of slivered almonds. Rich, boozy, and ready in 10 minutes.

10 minThis fudge barely qualifies as a recipe, and that’s exactly what makes it dangerous.
Melt chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk in the microwave, stir in bourbon and a whisper of orange extract, pour over slivered almonds, and walk away.
Ten minutes from start to “now we wait for it to set."
The bourbon adds warmth without being overpowering, and that orange extract? It sneaks in a citrus note that makes people ask what your secret ingredient is.
Pro Tips
- Stir the melted chocolate until completely smooth before adding the bourbon, or it can seize up
- Line the pan with parchment for easy removal and clean cuts
- Let it set at room temperature for the creamiest texture, or chill for faster results
- Toast the almonds briefly in a dry pan first for extra crunch and nutty flavor
Ingredients
Directions
Combine chocolate chips and milk in large bowl and cover loosely.
Cook in microwave for 3 minutes on High.
Remove from microwave and stir until smooth.
Add bourbon and orange extract; mix well.
Grease an 8 inch square pan and sprinkle bottom of pan with almonds.
Pour mixture in pan; let stand until firm or chill in refrigerator.

I saw this recipe all over the net, so I thought I'd try it. WHAT A WASTE of good whiskey. It is obviously missing something. Do not try as written!! The fudge does not firm up!!
I am checking other recipe website now, similar recipe, the ingredients and directions are the same, so this recipe should be right.
I agree with the original post - the fudge didn't set and is a complete waste of ingredients. The pan is in the freezer, trying to salvage it by making a fudge/ice cream hybrid.
