Cherry Nut Dump Cake
Submitted by Brownsugar
The easiest cake you’ll ever make: cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple topped with dry cake mix, melted butter, pecans, and coconut. Just dump, bake, and devour.

90 minDump cakes are proof that effort and flavor are not always related.
This one starts with cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple spread across the bottom of a 9×13 pan.
Dry yellow cake mix goes right on top (no mixing, no bowl), followed by a river of melted butter, a blanket of chopped pecans, and a final snowfall of shredded coconut.
An hour in the oven transforms that messy layup into a bubbling, golden, fruit-loaded dessert with crispy edges and a gooey center that’ll have people asking for your “recipe” (all five steps of it).
Kitchen Tips
- Don’t stir the layers; the magic of a dump cake is letting everything meld as it bakes
- Drizzle the melted butter as evenly as possible so no dry cake mix pockets survive
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the full experience
- Swap pecans for walnuts or almonds if that’s what you have in the pantry
