35 minChocolate bark is the dessert that makes you look generous and talented while requiring almost no skill whatsoever. Three ingredients. A microwave. Done.
Walnuts get spread in a single layer, then a full pound of melted dark chocolate gets poured over the top in a glossy sheet. Once it firms up, white chocolate gets drizzled across in zigzag lines for that professional candy-shop look.
Snap it into jagged pieces, layer them in a tin with waxed paper, and you’ve got homemade gifts that people will actually fight over during the holidays.
Kitchen Tips
- Microwave the chocolate at 50% power and stir frequently. Full power scorches chocolate fast and there’s no coming back from seized, grainy chocolate.
- Spread the melted chocolate thin and even. Thick bark is hard to break and overwhelming to eat.
- Let the dark chocolate set completely before drizzling the white chocolate on top, or the colors will bleed together.
- Store in a cool, dry place. The fridge works but can cause white bloom (harmless but not pretty) on the surface.
