30 minThese are the bars you make when you need dessert fast: creamy peanut butter filling pressed into a pan, topped with melted chocolate, then chilled until firm.
No oven, no complicated steps, just stir, spread, and wait.
The hardest part is letting them chill completely before cutting, because warm bars fall apart into a delicious mess.
Kitchen Tips
- Press firmly: Pack peanut butter layer down hard so it holds together when cut
- Microwave carefully: Heat chocolate in 30-second bursts, stirring between, to prevent burning
- Cut while cold: Slice bars straight from fridge for clean edges; they soften at room temp
- Line the pan: Use parchment paper with overhang for easy lifting and cutting
Variations
- Add 1 cup Rice Krispies to peanut butter layer for crunch
- Use butterscotch or white chocolate chips instead of chocolate
