These aren’t your average sloppy joes. The double hit of barbecue sauce and ketchup creates a sticky, smoky-sweet base that clings to every crumble of browned beef.

Diced green peppers add crunch while chunky sweet relish brings a pickle-bright pop that cuts right through the richness.

Ready in 30 minutes flat, this is the kind of hands-off weeknight meal that earns a permanent spot in the rotation.

Kitchen Tips

  • Don’t skip draining the fat after browning. It keeps the sauce from turning greasy and lets those BBQ flavors shine.
  • Toast your buns until they’re golden and sturdy. Soft buns turn to mush under all that saucy goodness.
  • For extra heat, stir in a splash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne with the barbecue sauce.
