Strawberries & Cream
Submitted by sanas
Fresh strawberries topped with piped sweetened whipped cream. Three ingredients, ten minutes, zero cooking. The kind of elegant simplicity New Orleans does best.

Fresh strawberries, cold heavy cream, and a touch of sugar. That’s the whole story. Whip the cream until it holds stiff peaks, load it into a pastry bag, and pipe gorgeous rosettes right over the berries.
It’s the sort of thing you’d find at the end of a long Creole dinner, when the table’s already won and all you need is something light, bright, and beautiful to close the deal.
Pro Tips
- Chill your bowl and whisk in the freezer for 10 minutes before whipping for faster, fluffier peaks
- Use the ripest, most fragrant berries you can find; this recipe has nowhere to hide
- Add a splash of Grand Marnier or vanilla extract to the cream for a subtle twist
Ingredients
Directions
Place strawberries in a bowl.
Whip the cream and, when it begins to thicken, add the sugar.
Whip until quite thick and pipe through a pastry bag onto the strawberries.
