9 hrsThis apple sausage breakfast ring is the kind of showstopper that makes brunch guests think you’re a culinary genius.
Bulk sausage gets mixed with grated apple, minced onions, eggs, and crushed crackers, then pressed into a ring mold and chilled overnight.
Bake it in the morning, and when it comes out golden and sizzling, fill that center hole with fluffy scrambled eggs.
Chef Tips
- Use lean, unflavored bulk sausage so the apple flavor shines through
- Line the ring mold with plastic wrap for easy unmolding in the morning
- Bake on a sheet pan with raised edges to catch any fat that renders out during cooking
