40 minThree ingredients, 20 minutes in the oven, and you’ve got a tray of golden, flaky chicken pockets stuffed with saucy filling. These use store-bought crescent roll dough as the wrapper, so there’s zero pastry-making involved.
Mix the chicken with pizza sauce, divide it among the dough triangles, and pinch them shut. That’s the whole recipe. The key is pinching the seams tightly so the filling doesn’t leak out during baking. If you see any gaps, press the dough together firmly with your fingertips.
These are great as after-school snacks, game day bites, or a quick weeknight dinner that kids will actually eat without negotiation.
Kitchen Tips
- Use leftover rotisserie chicken, shredded or diced small, for the fastest version.
- Don’t overfill the triangles. A tablespoon or two per triangle is plenty. Overstuffed pockets burst open in the oven.
- Place seam-side down on the baking sheet so the weight of the pastry helps keep them sealed.
Variations
- Swap pizza sauce for buffalo sauce and add a crumble of blue cheese for a spicy twist.
- Use cooked ground beef or turkey with taco seasoning for a Tex-Mex version.
- Add a small cube of mozzarella inside each pocket for a melty cheese surprise.
