10 minThese adorable peanut butter spiders turn snack time into craft time. Mix peanut butter, powdered sugar, and graham cracker crumbs into a moldable dough, then roll it in coconut for fuzzy spider bodies.
Stack a smaller ball on top of a larger one to create the head and abdomen, then poke in licorice strips for legs and raisins for eyes. Each spider is a tiny edible sculpture that’s as fun to build as it is to eat.
This recipe makes one spider, so multiply the ingredients by however many spiders you want to create.
Kitchen Tips
- Chill the peanut butter mixture briefly if it’s too sticky to shape
- Cut licorice into equal lengths (about 2 inches each) for uniform spider legs
- Use toothpicks to poke holes for the licorice legs if the mixture is firm
- Make a whole spider family by varying the size of the balls
Variations
- Roll in crushed Oreos instead of coconut for chocolate-covered spiders
- Use chocolate chips for eyes instead of raisins for a sweeter look
- Add a drop of vanilla extract to the peanut butter mixture for extra flavor
