Directions
Add all wet ingredients to bread maker. Add the flour.
Add the other dry ingredients to the sides of the bread maker. Add yeast in the center of the bread maker (away from the salt). Place 1 strip of butter on each side of the bread maker. Start on full cycle.
Add shredded or cubed cheeses and garlic when the bread maker rings for adding nuts and berries.
Note:
If you have any leftovers, this bread makes great croutons.

the recipes I have tried so far call for melted butter. This recipe calls for, if I have this correct, a centimeter of butter. Is there a difference between using melted and not melted butter?
The bread rose nicely in the machine, but as soon as the baking cycle started, it collapsed completely in the middle.
Maybe too much yeast
It depends on your bread maker. You can always use your dough cycle and make bread or buns in the oven.
Baking in the oven kind of defeats the purpose of the convenience of a bread machine. Collapsing seems to be a result of too much yeast. Might have to tweak the recipe if I make it again.
mine also collapsed in the middle i measured exact
Exactly when do I add the cheese and garlic?
Add shredded or cubed cheeses and garlic when the bread maker rings for adding nuts and berries. Hope this helps, and happy baking :)
What is 1slice of butter?
It does say 1 cm thick. So 1 slice of butter in this case is 1 cm thick slice.
1 cm of what shape package? that is a length measurement. Butter comes in different packages, sticks, pounds, 1/2 pounds. 1 cm of those would all be different amounts
Is this recipe for a one pound loaf or a larger loaf?
It should be a one-pound loaf. Hope this helps!
Would love to make this, but need to know which setting. One or two pound loaf?
The regular setting would do. It should be a one-pound loaf. Happy Baking :)
Can you use powdered milk instead?
I think you can, just make sure to add enough water. Happy Baking :)
When I have used all purpose flour instead of bread flour, it was heavy & dense. Would this work with bread flour as well?
YES YOU CAN USE BREAD FLOUR. BREAD FLOUR MAKES IT LIGHTER.
How can I turn this into a 2lb loaf? This is a family favorite in my house and there is never enough.
Double the amount of the ingredients would make a two pound loaf. Happy baking :)
THREE CUPS OF BREAD FLOUR WILL GIVE YOU A 2 POUND LOAF. I WOULD USE 2 TEASPOONS OF YEAST.
If I use Bread Flour instead of All Purpose, do I need to adjust any of the other ingredients?
It should be fine with the regular setting. Happy bread making ;)
This bread is amazing, but when I made it, it turned out really crumbly. does anybody have tips to help this?
What setting does bread machine use? Is it a white bread? And when do I add cheese and garlic if it doesnt have a nut and berry timer
Breads are usually crumbly when they are let on too long (they dry out) What the bread maker and once it has baked for 2/3 of the time... stick a skewer into see if cooked every ten minutes until done.

Ive made this recipe five times and it’s always perfect. I add whatever cheeses we have at the time, always amazing!!! Thank You.
I am going to try this tomorrow, I want to use the 1 cheese, Shredded parmesan, and not the 3 spices but instead use minced garlic in olive oil. Will this be ok?
I add minced garlic but make sure not to get too much juice or oil and it works out pretty well. I also just use the shredded Parmesan. So far so good.
OMG love this recipe, thank you. I use bread flour and the exact measurements. Comes out perfect each time. Too much cheese seems to make it fall.
