4 hrsBobby knew what he was doing with this one. Three pounds of ground beef simmered in a sweet-tangy sauce that practically makes itself in the slow cooker.
Brown sugar and ketchup bring the sweetness, while vinegar, mustard, and Worcestershire lay down a sharp, savory punch that keeps every bite interesting.
Toss it all in the Crock-Pot after a quick stovetop sear, walk away for a few hours, and come back to a pot of sloppy, glorious sandwich filling that’ll feed ten hungry mouths.
Pro Tips
- Brown the beef in batches if your skillet is small. Crowding the pan steams the meat instead of searing it, and you want that caramelized flavor.
- The low-and-slow setting (6 to 8 hours) gives the flavors more time to meld, but the high setting (3 to 4 hours) works great when time is tight.
- Make a double batch of the sauce and freeze half. It reheats like a dream for last-minute dinners.
